Pemanfaatan Limbah Ikan Menjadi Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) melalui Fermentasi EM4 dan Molase di Desa Kampung Pulau

Abstract


Fish waste and household organic waste are often disposed of directly into the environment, causing unpleasant odors, pollution, and a decline in environmental quality. In fact, these wastes still contain valuable nutrients that can be utilized, one of which is by processing them into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). This community service program was conducted in Kampung Pulau Village, Rengat District, Indragiri Hulu Regency through socialization and demonstration activities on the production of LOF from fish waste using EM4 and molasses as fermentation agents. The program began with an observation of the village's local potential, followed by educational sessions, hands-on demonstrations of LOF production, and discussions with community members. The results showed that the participants responded positively and actively participated throughout the activities. They not only gained knowledge about the benefits of fish waste but also understood the procedures for producing and applying LOF to plants. Converting fish waste into liquid organic fertilizer offers an environmentally friendly alternative for waste management while providing added value to the community. This program is expected to encourage local communities to make better use of available resources in a more productive and sustainable manner.
