Edukasi Penggunaan Obat Cacing pada Anak Usia Dini di Sekolah Dasar Negeri Puuroda Jaya
Abstract
Helminth infections among elementary school children can adversely affect growth, nutritional status, and academic performance. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge of students, parents, and the community regarding the prevention of intestinal worm infections through Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and the rational use of anthelmintic drugs. The activity was conducted through community education in the form of interactive health counseling using leaflets, followed by an evaluation using pre-test and post-test questionnaires administered to 20 students at SD Negeri Puuroda Jaya. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge, with the proportion of students demonstrating good knowledge increasing from approximately 35% at baseline to 80% in the post-test. In conclusion, visual media-based health education was effective in raising awareness and improving students’ understanding as a practical and sustainable measure to reduce the incidence of intestinal worm infections.
